Why are there different supply numbers?
Sources do not agree, and we show them side by side rather than pick one. Kraken's explainer says the Blockworks filing documents a total of 14,612,493 QNT with 14,544,176 circulating, that Quant burned 9,545,766 unsold tokens on 14 September 2018, and that Etherscan's contract page shows a 45,467,000 maximum [Kraken]. The on-chain contract confirms the 45,467,000 totalSupply() value and shows about 9.55 million QNT sitting in the contract's own address. We do not offer our own reconciliation of the two figures; see myths vs facts.
totalSupply_ = 45467000…), and totalSupply() just returns it. The contract's mint() function adds to balances without updating it, so it is not a count of tokens in existence. About 9.55 million QNT sit at the contract's own address, and the verified code has no function that moves them. Counting the contract's mint events ourselves gives about 24.43 million QNT created, all on 25 June 2018. Etherscan's "on-chain market cap" multiplies that constant by price, so circulating market cap is the more meaningful figure. Full explanation with sources: Why Etherscan shows 45,467,000 QNT.Exchange share (labelled addresses only)
2,219,138 QNT (15.19% of reported supply) sits in 14 top-50 addresses with a verified public exchange label. Lower bound: counts only addresses with a verified public exchange label (see data/labels.json). Most exchange wallets are not labelled here. A true exchange share cannot be computed from free data without comprehensive address labels, so please treat this as a floor, not an estimate.
